  • Question about Keying a Morphsuit

    Hi everyone,

I am looking to emulate something similar to this music video by Coldplay: https://vimeo.com/208107448

The issue I am running into when I am trying it on my own footage, is that when I remove the morphsuit I am seeing a silhouette around the actor I am trying to remove. And I have had trouble finding a really good tutorial on how to make this look believable. How can something like this be solved? My process went like this:

    1) I remove morphsuit with keylight.
    2) Place clean plate underneath layer with the morphsuit removed.

In a perfect world I would love to be able to accomplish this look with a camera pan or slide but I’m assuming I would need to have the camera run the same exact path on the shot and the clean plate.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks so much!

Thanks for your response. Sorry I wasnt clear. I’m trying to remove the actor wearing the Morphsuit so that when he lifts a person into the air, I would like to make him disappear. As though he doesnt exist. The example I included is exactly what I am trying to accomplish. I guess I am just lost as to what steps or processes I would need to go through.

    E.H.

Hi. Have a play with the Refine Matte effect, if that doesn’t do it you might like to post an image of your problem.
