I need to create an arrow which will move with particular moving object in the clip. The problem is – when I create an arrow in top track a then try to keyframe it, the bottom track with the actual clip isnt moving, so I dont know where to put keyframes… How would you do it?

There’s a handy feature in the pan/crop window that does exactly this, and it’s called “Sync Cursor”. At the bottom of the pan/crop window are some keyframe control icons. The one on the left is Sync Cursor – looks like a I beam cursor and padlock. Activate that, and the main timeline cursor will move in sync with the pan/crop cursor.

Remember to deactivate it afterwards so you don’t accidentally create unwanted keyframes or move both cursors when you don’t want to.

There were definitely two posts here, one by Rehan who started this thread, and a responder, which have both vanished – what the? Whilst the original post was possibly slightly on the rude side, the response was quite helpful and just stopped short of suggesting one reads the manual.

FYI, the original poster could not find the keyframing timeline in SVP11, which now has to be exposed by either clicking on a clock icon or animate button.

There is definitely something funky with the thread list. I have two browsers open; Chrome (COW logged in) and IE (not logged in). The thread lists are different. Very weird …
