  question about capturing PAL

  Hey cow folks,

  Happy new year! Quick question- we’re trying to capture PAL DVCAM in to a FCP 5 workstation and are having problems. I did a google search and read somewhere the particular deck we’re using (HVR-M15U) has issues with PAL and that you need to do the following:

  – Change sequence/capture settings to PAL DV, 25fps, and 32kz audio
  -disable the i-link setting on the deck
  -switch to 50i mode (I assume this is a deck setting, correct?)
  – turn off the HDV/DV Sel (Again, I assume this is a deck setting, correct?)

  Anywho, another worker said he tried all this and STILL no luck. Can anyone confirm if this is what you need to do, or are we missing something. thanks!
