Quality Steadycam
I’m currently shooting with a handycam but looking to upgrade to DSLR when I get the money.
Currently I’m looking for a steady cam. I do a lot of shoots while walking and panning through rooms.
Which steadycams have you guys used and how did you like them?
I’m looking at snagging one of the generic ones off eBay… But see a lot of people use the flycam (a bit more spendy). Just not sure if I buy cheap if it will be worthless…

Glidecam works great. They also make a vest for smoother shots, but with practice, you can get some great shots without the vest.

That does look like a great steadycam…
Curious what features do you look for in these… do any have a clutching mechanism so you can rotate the camera, instead of always having it float?

I’ve never used one at all…
I’m curious if I want to move around a shot, and actually do want the camera to rotate, pan, tilt etc. Is that still possible at all with a steady cam?
Is it possible to lock up one axis to get shots like that or do they simply always cancel out everything with a 3-axis bearing?
