I am pulling clips straight into AE for keying. When I pull the footage in it looses quite a bit of quality as I am shooting in HD. When I bring the footage into FCP it looks all crisp and clean even when I compress and export it. When I pull it into AE there is definitely a significant loss of crispness on the edges and a loss of overall quality. I thought maybe it was just the viewer but I can really tell a difference in the final export and render. Also whenever I key anything with keylight anything on the screen that is black has all these pixels moving around on it.

    Hi
I’m having the same problems.. my export looks ok but not as crisp as in F.C. my original footage was from my xa-a1 so my footage is hHDV. my question is, how do i deal with this.. do i bring the footage into, say final cut, and then export it using an alternative codec, and if so which one?

    Many many thanks

    Oliver
