QT Ref movie not optimized?
Curious about a message I’m getting when importing a QT ref movie.
The .mov is a self contained QT (using current settings) exported from my timeline.
Timeline is ProRez(HQ) 720×486 DF (from easy set-up)I render my timeling, then export the self contained QT, and when I import the resulting QT and add it to a timeline I get a warning that the file isnt optimized for FCP!?
What wouldn’t be optimized?? as it is en export direct from a FCP easy set-up timeline.The file plays just fine, colour and luma is all the same, TC is spot on, and it doesn’t require any rendering. So.. how is this file not ‘optimized’?

Easy set up is:AJA Kona LH-NTSC Apple ProRes 422 (HQ)
Footage was captured from DigiBeta via SDI through a Kona LHe to AJA Kona 525 Apple ProRes 422(HQ) codec

Colin,
A self contained movie is not a Reference movie. What you’re exporting should work fine. Perhaps trash your prefs.

Yes, sorry. It is a self contained movie, not a reference movie

It does play just fine. No rendering required at all. Just curious as to what could trigger a “file not optimized” warning in this situation.

I have seen that before.
I ususally jsut click ok and hpoe for the best. No penalties for doing that as of yet.
