    Hey guys,

I have an update for you! The saga of trying to get an Intel Mac Mini (duocore) to utilise a quicktime playlist in full screen as described through this post:

    https://forums.creativecow.net/cgi-bin/new_read_post.cgi?univpostid=894643&forumid=8&postid=894643&pview=t

VLC player is still the only player that can smoothly play my h.264 QT files. It still has the compatability issues with the intel mac minis though.

The iTunes suggestion was promising, I have re-exported my larger files with restricted bit rates, creating files much much smaller (around 60 mb- with acceptable quality) However, they still stutter on pans! (only in iTunes, not in Quicktime) And also, when the playlist is complete and loops, the first video exits full screen mode, plays in the itunes window (with the playlist etc itunes control window visible) and then switches back to full screen for the next clip. I have no idea why this happens, it continues playing like this for hours, just clip #1 playing out of full screen, without any promting from the user.

I have considered the other suggestions, but the file size is a major issue, so the h.264 codec seems to be what I need. I can’t really have any files larger than 500mb due to network restrictions.

Just thought I’d throw this back out there, this has been months of trial and error, without a result that works. The PC vendors are trying to give us PC’s with in-built playlist software and such, but none of their machines comes anywhere close to the mac playback quality for our files. So I am still desperately trying to get a playlist functionality for QT on the intel machine. I want to rub the mac in their faces!! 😛

A small note on the iTunes problem, I have switched off “shuffle” and manually shuffled my playlist, it seems to have ceased the exit and enter full screen problem described above… still testing though!
