    Hey all,

I have never experienced this before and am having trouble finding help. Hopefully, someone can help here.

I was given some files of some green screen shots that I want to composite/key over the holidays. When I opened the files I was unable to see any video. I heard the audio but the video in QT was pure white.

So, I opened the properties and saw that the video was encoded with ProRes. I am on an Intel Mac Book Pro and don’t have FCP on this machine but still wanted to look at the files and get them prepared for compositing. Is there any way to watch these videos without opening them up in FCP?

    Thanks in advance.

    Never mind.

I am getting a new disk with new files. The way they were captured and transfered was inaccurate and I am getting a new disk with all the files as 10-bit uncompressed files. That should do the trick.

    Hi Seth,
If you don’t have Prores installed there is not way to see the movie. Not even with FC. When you have the codex installed you should be able to open the movie with every QT application.

The “wife” who refuses to marry me likes to tell a story from her childhood that ends with “my daddy’s wearing overalls…”

I’m glad to know that she’s an “opportunity” that I haven’t missed, even if the paperwork is a bit sloppy.

    To Arnie – VERY FUNNY!!!

To Rafael – Yeah, the Mac Book Pro has AE and Shake on it. I don’t have and am not going to install FCP on the Mac Book Pro at this point. That’s why I asked to get a new disc with uncompressed 10-bit. No worries!
