try taking FCP out of the loop

render and export as a QuickTime movie, Current settings.
you can export a reference file if you like

take that into Compressor and try your conversion.

I am running into a similar problem getting Error -2002. I am running a Power PC 1.8 dual with FCP 5.0.4. and compressor 2.0.1. and Quicktime 7.3. I run batches of HD video to compress into MOV, MPG and WMV using Flip4Mac beta version which I recently updated. The MPG’s and MOV’s compress fine but the WMV’s tank out and end up in the failed bin with Quicktime Error. -2002. I have had a lot of trouble in the past with Compressor 2 and have found solutions after hours of searching. In the past I found that my timeline in FCP were currupted. To test this generat about 10 sec of color bars and try and compress that. In my case that has failed. I have removed the Compressor plist and am about to reinstall Compressor altogather, however, from my tests it seems that since the MPG’s and MOV’s are compressing fine, the problem may be with Flip4Mac. I am going to try some more tests and report later on what I find. Compressor 2 has been a problem since began using it 2 years ago.
