  • Q about AVC and drifting audio

Posted by Mark Suszko on December 6, 2012 at 3:22 pm

I’m asking for a friend (no, really). I *think* I know the answer, but…

DVX100 fed into a Tricaster, output 2 and a half hour AVC file about a TB in size. Editor friend is complaining he can’t keep a lock on audio, it drifts more and more over time.

I’m assuming its a rate mismatch between his ProRes 422 timeline and the audio rate of the AVC footage.

What can I point him towards, to get his drift fixed? Change timeline parameters, and if so, to what?
Or transcode thru Compressor or Streamclip, using what settings?
