Activity Forums Avid Media Composer purchasing the AVID Media Composer trial

  • purchasing the AVID Media Composer trial

I’ve been using the AVID Media Composer 30 day trial for the past 29 days & need to purchase it today. The AVID activation is asking for my System ID & Serial Number to proceed with my purchase.
I have a SN on my mac, but can’t seem to find a system ID.
    Any advice?

I’ve attempted to call AVID at 800-949-2843 with no success. Is there a number I can call to make the purchase? AVID doesn’t make this simple, do they?

Many thanks in advance for any help!

I went a completely different route. I uninstalled the trial version, then went to Avid’s site and inputted my FCP serial number, to which they sent me the confirmation e-mail containing the discount code. You then click the link (or go directly to Avid’s site) and order it.
Because it is a full production version, it will be mailed and not downloaded. They have 6 (extra) discs including Boris Continuem complete, Sorenson Squeeze, Sonic, and more. It comes rather quickly, but if you need to renew the trial version while you wait, I think you just have to contact them. I’m pretty sure they’ll renew the trial, but don’t quote me on that. Hope this helps!

Thanks Tim – very helpful. Do you know of a phone number that I can call to talk to AVID?

No, other than what’s posted on their site. I think I ended up sending them an e-mail, which took about a day to get a reply. Maybe they have a chat window?? I’d highly recommend that if they do–I’ve had great success on “chats” with other companies, but never tried Avid.

1-800-800-AVID will get you through to technical support. There is (i believe) an option there for
a purchase. I called 2 days ago to get a license re-activated and was on hold for 3 mins.

Tim, How long did it take them to send you the code via email? I did this earlier this week and have not yet received my cross-grade code. :~(
