Pulling my hair out over SIMPLE task-edit text in a title
I have Premiere Elements 4.0. I’m trying to make my first video. It is for in law’s 45th anniversary. I’ve scanned 80 photos in and have been designing each “slide” in photoshop, because I think that is the best place to assemble my background w/ a photo w/ flourishes and banners (scrapbook style.) I’m not sure where the best place is to add the titles. On each picture I’m putting a tag w/ the year over it and another title graphic w/ a short caption.
If I put the text on in Photoshop when I bring it over the text looks horrible….I’m hoping this is going to be fixed when I render it? If I put the text on in elements it looks great…until I click away then it gets bitmaped. I feel pretty sure that at least w/ the elements text the rendering will clean it up?
But what is really making me want to throw this computer out the window is for the life of me I can’t figure out how in the heck to edit text that I typed if I click away from that frame and back! I’ve tried the pointer tool, the text tool, right clicking, left clicking, dragging.
I work for a company w/ a ton of video editors who use other applications and one of them clicked around and accidentally got the cursor to work, but they we couldn’t figure out how he did it. I may be an idiot w/ this software but this guy is a professionsl. What the heck is the trick to editing text? PLEASE…I’m near tears…deadline is approaching and my husband is losing faith!
