  • Pulling footage JUST after a timecode break

    Hello!

So, I’m trying to capture HDV footage that was shot very, very close to a timecode break (the camera was turned off right before we shot a collision that was spontaneously occurring). Turns out this footage has become very valuable in post, and no matter what we do to try to capture it (capture now, capture clip, redub to a new tape), both the camera and deck (we tried both) will only start capturing seconds after the collision. Any suggestions?

yep. definitely done capture now. It stops on the timecode break and picks up seconds after we need it to.

maybe set device control to ‘non-controllable device’ so FCP doesn’t control the VTR/camera
start the tape manually and use capture now again.
haven’t tried myself, so this is just an idea at his stage 🙂
