psd logos in HDV 1080 timeline?
Hello,
Curious if anybody could shed some light on best practice for getting logos to look correct in a 1080i60 timeline. Do I need to resize similar to old standar def? …and do I need to change the dpi of the file?
currently what sort of works is creativing logos in psd preset 1920×1080 and then resizing to 1440. There’s not really any intelligent reason why I chose that number, but it seems to work.
the major problem I’m seeing is still fairly jaggy edges when viewing at full screen. The preset for psd is 72 dpi, should I change this settting?
Any suggestions is appreciated.cheers

That’s the best way to do it. 1440 works because that is the true horizontal resolution of HDV as it’s an anamorphic format. So create your graphics at 1920×1080, then squeeze them down to 1440.
I do this all the time with DVCPro HD 720p material. I take the 1280 graphics and squeeze them down to 960 wide to match the codec.
