PSD Files getting warped
I’m having some problems inserting a photoshop PSD into final cut pro.
I’m trying to put a text-based photoshop PSD over a still shot in my timeline but when I place it in the timeline, the text gets warped. This isn’t an aspect ratio problem because when I save the PSD to a JPEG, it does not warp.
I need it to be a PSD though because I need the text to float with the still shot image.
I want to the text to dissolve in and out, so saving the text onto the stillshot and then putting it into final cut is not an option either.
How can I make a PSD file not warp in FCP?

If I interpret your post correctly Jeremy, technically, you need a graphic file with an alpha channel because you want to super (super-impose) the graphic over your video. If that is the case, you will do much better to export the graphic as a PNG, TGA, or TIFF file rather than a PSD. The three file types I mentioned all carry an alpha channel which means that the black background is interpreted as transparent in FCP.
Try your best to learn the terms I’ve used above, as using the proper lingo will serve you well in this business.
