I’m not feeling the love for the Color Replacment Tool– it seems like a Wand selection would be just as good and more controllable.

What are the advantages (if any) to this tool?

Before the color replacement tool, you would have to change your paintbrush to blending mode color or hue, and paint over somehting to change the color.

The color replacement tool has that option and more like “limits” “tolerance level”. The color replacement also is much more intelligent job of sensing what to do with neighboring pixles (kind of like comparing the clone stamp to the healing brush).

You can do a wand selection prior to using the color replacement tool if you are familiar with constricting your selection in that way.
