PS action to combine all open images into one comp
Posted by David Taylor on February 18, 2010 at 4:33 pmSeems like this should be an automated feature or something. But I’d like to quickly combine all the open single layer images into one multi-layered comp. Is there such a action? I’ve googled but to no avail, probably not wording it right.

February 21, 2010 at 12:58 amI think you need a script instead of an action. Googling ‘photoshop script combine images’ led me to this site:

February 22, 2010 at 6:33 pmThere already is in CS4 (might exist in earlier versions)
files> Scripts>>Load files into stack
then just follow the prompts -

April 14, 2014 at 5:23 pmThere are a few options I know of, none are perfect.
One: File>Automate>Contact Sheet II
This will preserve layers, include captions of the file titles, but they’re really really small (it’s a contact sheet, after all)Two: File>Automate>Picture Package
This will not preserve layers and is not included in versions beyond CS5. However, if you take the time, you can adjust the layouts in one go, however you wish. You can find the plugin here: https://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=4688&fileID=4376 and how to install it here: https://projectwoman.com/2012/10/install-picture-package-in-photoshop-cs6-step-by-step.htmlThree: File>Scripts>Load Files into Stack
Preserves layers but will require rearranging.Hope this helps.
