  • ProTools Error Message with new AVID upgrade

Spent the $50 upgraded to Xpress Pro HD 5.6.4 and updated my dongle. So far application launched and everything looks good.
When I started up my ProTools on start up an error message prompts “The procedure entry pont_DsiGetHardwareMemoryBlockEndAddress@0 could not be located in the dynamic link library DSI.dll.”

I had only purchased the AVID upgrade not the Studio Upgrade. Based on AVID site the Studio upgrade did not mention anything for ProTools.
    What am I doing wrong?

I guess you missed the note on the download page:
“Owners of Avid Xpress Studio Complete and Avid Xpress Studio Essentials should not upgrade to this version of the software, as it is not compatible with the full suite. Full compatibility will be offered in a future release and customers will be notified when this is available”

As you’ve found out, the consequences is the interoperability of the various other applications associated with Studio.
5.2.1 is the latest official release, though 5.2.4 can be used following a specific installation procedure.
A newer (very delayed) release is in the works and supposed to be released soon.
