    Hi,

Since v.10 has come out I can’t get the text position to update live whilst using the Pro Titler tool. In v.09 and earlier I never had trouble with this.

If I type in text then want to either change its position using the XY postion sliders/dialogue boxes or by nudging it with the keyboard arrows, the only way I can see the updated position of the text is to apply it, click away from the event, then click back.

This is really irritating. Anyone have a solution for this? I keep expecting this to be picked up in one of the updates, but no joy yet.

Also – if any of you are typo experts out there – I can’t change the ride-height of the superscript characters – like TM or R symbols. If you change the font size of these symols – to make them smaller relative to the body text for example – they tent to creep down into the centre of the line. Is there any way to get them to move up/down independantly?

    Cheers,

    JM.

Have you reported this to Sony? If not, don’t expect it to get fixed. Not may people use ProType titler because it is not well integrated into Vegas and uses unfamiliar terms. Don’t expect people to be complaining about a tool they don’t use. You should contact Sony support and report this if it bothers you.

I have reported this issue to SCS twice. To my knowlege, the problem first appeared in 10c. My reports have never been acknowledged to me by Sony. I have to assume that the issue will be fixed in 10d.

It is difficult to accept that something that has worked perfectly for me since it’s inception was broken in an update. I took the time to learn PTT and see it as a powerful part of my workflow. I use it on nearly every production that I do.

I have used Vegas professionally since the Sonic Foundry days and have never seen so many issues as in the Vegas 10 series. Sometimes I am almost afraid to hit a key for fear of a crash. Looking forward to Vegas 10d!

I’m glad it’s not just me then! I think this started with the very first version of Vegas 10, but I may be wrong.

FYI: Whilst this seems to be a mayor problem on our Windows 7, 64x machines, it seems to work OK on our one remaining 32x XP machine.

It wouldn’t be so bad if it were possible to open the Vegas 10 projects in the earlier v.9 software.

Apart from letting the crash reports go through, I’ve generally given up on reporting problems to Sony directly, as they typically just suggest that you re-load the software, so – like you – I’m just hopeful they pick this up in one of their patched versions somewhere down the line.
