    Hi,

Just had a 4am idea! But as usual it’s littered with problems.

Some customers are put off by the relatively high prices of video production. A few hundred pounds upwards. So, just had the idea that they pay little or nothing up front, but pay a fee for as long as the video is hosted on YouTube. This would obviously work better for some videos (hotels) then others (time limited promos).

But what protection can I instil of stopping people just downloading the video and putting it on their website?

This would be easy to manage in the beginning as the small numbers would allow me to check periodically that they haven’t got it on their website (assuming they had stopped paying the fee).

Updates to the video would cost a fee of course.

    Kind regards,

    Olly Lawer

nope- Youtube is definitely not set up for that business model. At least not easily. Try Vzaar instead.

    Interesting idea.

Watermark with your logo in the bottom left corner perhaps? Have a signed contract clearly stating the terms. YOU own the video, you are just licensing it to them for the duration agreed to, them downloading it and using on their website would be a copyright violation, don’t know if anyone wants to get into that mess nowdays.
