Been using final cut hd with a kona 3 for a while now on an 8-drive 5+0 external array with the highpoint rocketraid card and have been getting good results. When i go out on the road and work on-site i have the luxury of bringing this setup with us to edit no problem. But now that pro res is out i was wondering what kind of transfer speeds we need to work with the lowest compression prores codec? Can i bring a little lunch box 4 drive array with me that hooks up e-sata to cut pro res hd? I have a dual 2 x 3ghz with 4gb of ram adn a kona 3 card. Any advice would be great..thanks guys

AJA was showing the Io HD at NAB playing back ProRes from a dual eSATA G-Raid… so you’re setup should work jest fine!

It’s a great codec for sure… I love how much money it saves in drive space and speed. It looks lossless to my old eyes… your Intel machine should capture to it OK as well.
