    Hello,

I’m starting a new Motion project and can’t find the Prores codec from the project preset drop box.
The closest thing to what I need is Broadcast HD 720. There’s plenty of choices for XD cam, HDV, and other codecs, but how do I select Prores 720 or 1080?

    Thx!

Motion is codec agnostic. In other words, it doesn’t care about the codec until it comes time to export the project. What you do, is match the particular frame size you need, and then export out in pro res. If you’re working in HD, I suggest the Broadcast HD presets for 720 or 1080.

All the presets are codec-independent. All they do is set the frame size, pixel aspect ratio, frame rate, etc. You can add footage that has any Quicktime codec and render to any codec you like. Just pick a preset that matches your source footage specs.
