ProRes Codecs?
Posted by Janie Deal on November 18, 2020 at 5:00 amI had to reinstall my Media 100 software and now my codecs are grayed out. The codecs exist somewhere on my Mac because they’re available in my Adobe products. How do I link the codecs back with my Media 100? Or do I need to reinstall them again from Apple? If so how? I tried it but the link I found on this forum is old and the process would not work. I really would appreciate any help provided!!!
Thank you

November 19, 2020 at 9:42 pmWhat part of the old process didn’t work for you? What MacOS version are you running? Do you have any Pro Apple Software installed, in addition to Media 100 and Adobe software?

November 19, 2020 at 9:54 pmThis appears to be the download link for the latest ProVideo Codecs:
https://support.apple.com/kb/DL2050
…requires at least MacOS 10.14.5
…and older versions of the ProVideo Codecs will be available for older MacOS versions, which is why I asked what MacOS you are using. You just search the apple website to find them, =). Hopefully you can still use Pacifist to extract the codecs, and then put them in the required folders, =). You say the process would not work, so let me know which part of the process didn’t work, and we can hopefully troubleshoot from there and find a new solution, =).

I haven’t tried the latest ProVideo Codecs 2.2 yet.
ProVideo Codec Links:
2.0.4 & 2.0.5 are on the Media 100 Facebook Group – you need to join to see them: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Media100Suite/permalink/1743339945695501
2.2 and 2.1.1 are on Apple’s website here:
2.2: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL2050
2.1.1: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL2020
