Hello all, I would like to know if i can capture beta SP in prores….there’s no preset in log and capture for prores. Can I convert it later? if not…do you have any suggestions? I have a lot of material and 1.5TB but my boss keeps saying we should be able to do it in prores. I have looked in alot of places and I couldn’t find anything that said i can use prores with beta sp. i even thought of capturing in DV50 and then render it in prores or 8bit. I don’t know what to do. please help.
    thanks
    P

What kind of processor do you have and do you have a capture card?

MacPro dual, Blackmagic for beta sp.
I downloaded the 6.4 driver and installed it but it only gives me apple prores HQ and I need the other.I mean that is not in the capture setting menu in log and capture.
And by the way is there a difference in resolution between Prores 422 and 8bit? I mean if I am capturing betasp in 8bit or prores how much space am i really going to save and what kind of quality just am i getting?
    thanks

this will work, I do it on a daily basis.

use the “NTSC ProRes HQ 48khz” easy setup and sequence settings.
