I am using the new ProRes 4444 codec and cutting 29.97 1920×1080 animations since it carries the alpha. There are a lot of clips and FCP 7.0.2 is not responding well – frequently crashing at different periods of the edit. No error message other than the generic “Final Cut Pro has unexpectedly quit”

Anyone having issues with this new codec?

I’ve removed what I believed to be “problem clips” but that did not do the trick.

Interesting (but less than helpfully) I had this problem too, I’m not sure what exactly fixed it bur I known did everything from a COMPLETE deletion of final cut stdio (all system files), a disk permissions repair and I even reset the PRAM, then reinstalled final cut, saved the project as a new project and put intro a new sequence. And the reinstalled the kitchen sink….. Then that worked.

    😀
