    Hello all,

I am having trouble getting my files to render out. Here is what I am trying to do:

Grading off r3d files in a 1080p timeline.
    Trying to render ProRes 4444 @ 4096 x 2304.

Is this possible? I get about 15 frames in on the render and spinning beach ball. Any help would be appreciated. I need to render 4K because we are doing a lot of blow ups in After Effects.

    Hi Robert,

Add the following line to the Debug tab in the DaVinci Resolve Preferences widget, then save, then exit Resolve and relaunch.

    System.Record.Lookahead = 5

    WOW!!!!!
Thanks so much. I wish I would have asked that question about 4 hrs earlier.

Is this solution just to fix ProRes 4444 renders or was it to fix something else? (Like my several force quits I performed throughout the day)

This is a fix for 4K renders. Actually, any renders above 2K should use this.

    Dwaine.
Could you expand on what this command actually does, beside allowing the 4k render? What is a lookahead?

    It’s already fixed in v8

No, I can’t. I think it increases the buffers to the rendering process, but I don’t know the specifics. And as Rohit points out below, the issue has been addressed in V8.

    Hi Robert

Just read your post that you could solve the problem of Davinci Resolve ProRes 4444 4k renders by the Debug Line.

I tried to enter the same debug line in Resolve but still cant enter any resolution above 1920 in render menu, I got Resolve 8.2 Lite.

Even if wish to enter 1921 I cant, its like programmed for 1920 max

    Can you please help me

    Regards
