    Hi all,

I wanted to know about getting some footage captured from Sony HDCam. I had some footage captured as 422, and was then told it should have been HQ for color correction purposes down the road. I was under the impression that HQ for anything 1920×1080 and smaller was overkill and didn’t serve any purpose…am I wrong? I feel bad because it wasn’t paid for by me, and I’m wondering if I should have the problem fixed on my own.

    thanks

    Austin

No. You are right. Whoever told you that is wrong.

The impression that I’ve gotten from others on the COW is that HQ is for sources originating in 10-bit and/or 2k or larger.
