Here’s a workflow question for all you gurus: what is the best order for doing levels adjustment and color correction?

It seems to me that being forced into an RGB workspace in Vegas makes this more problematic. If you adjust levels first, then use the primary CC to fix white balance.. the RGB levels could be off (what used to be maximum white may now be a bright yellow or blue, perhaps calling for another Levels run). But if the pipeline was a YUV based one, the Y would (I hope) stay the same.

So what’s YOUR workflow? Do you first adjust levels/gamma, then white balance? Or do you begin by adjusting white balance, then levels/gamma?

I’m asking because I’m adding a white balance tool into ColorLab (https://aav6cc.blogspot.com), and am thinking of combining it with the Levels effect. I would therefore need to decide on the order of operations. Any hints would be appreciated.. 🙂
