  • Proper disclaimer for TV commercial “free drawing”

    Hi Folks,
Not sure if this is the right forum but here goes…
I’m creating a TV commercial for a client who is offering an in-store monthly drawing for a prize. Can anyone chime in and let me know if there’s a blanket disclaimer I should use? It’s for a mattress store and he’s giving away a set of high-end pillows. I don’t know how important this is but in this litigious world we live in it might be wise.
    Thanks,
    Rich

If the customer is required to do something specific to get the pillows, make sure and mention that in the disclaimer. Is there a time limit or a numerical limit to the giveaways? Is there a certain $$$ value that needs to be met? A certain model number? Be specific. You can always add the universal “See dealer for details” at the end of the disclaimer. When in doubt, consult an attorney
