projects that look back
We are about to upgrade a G5 2.5 Mhz to Tiger from Panther and FCP from version 4.5 to 5.0. Does anyone know if the projects produced under the Panther OS will look back under the newer Tiger OS?

FCP 5 can open FCP 4.5 projects…but FCP 4.5 cannot open a FCP 5 project. It can look back, not forward. The the version of the OS doesn’t matter.
BUT…before you convert a 4.5 project to a 5.0 project, DUPLICATE it and add FCP 5 to the name. In case you run into problems. This way you can still use the fcp 4.5 project (with FCP 4.5)…because once you convert the project, there is no going back…
