so i’ve been checking out the posts on projection layers etc, and it doesn’t seem to be what i’m after.
i have an image of a stained glass window. i want to add “volumetirc” (read, “fake volumetric”) light coming from the window towards us.

i can make light rays with trapcode shine, but they don’t take on the colour of the stained glass. the red bits of glass should emit red beams, the green bit green beams, etc.

i don’t think using the layer as a projection layer with lights (or gobo, or whatever you call it) will work, because i’m not trying to project on to anything at all. i just want the light rays to be visible. later i may add dust particles in the light beams with particular, but right now i’m trying to get the beams emitting with the right colours.

    any ideas?

    thanks!
    scott.
