project takes forever to open (vegas pro 10)

Renato I have exactly the same problem with 6GB RAM. It is not your hardware to blame. And I am using avis with a different codec. Something is wrong with using .avi files in Vegas. I am using 9.0e.

You might want to report that to Sony so that they can fix it.
