I have 2 questions regarding the setting up of a new project in Vegas v8, and DVDA v5.

The footage was shot using a Sony EX1R, SD 16:9 60i.

I’m guessing that the setting in Vegas should be using the template “NTSC DV Widescreen (720×480), 29.97fps, and then change the Frame Rate drop down box to 59.94 (double NTSC)?

In DVDA, there are 16:9 & 720×480 options, but not anything close to 59.94. The only option is 29.97. Am I looking in the wrong place?

What are the best settings to get the best quality from footage with these specs?

    Many thanks in advance

No. 60i is 29.97fps. The “60” is shorthand for “59.940”. The “i” stands for “interlaced” fields which means there are 59.940 fields per second. It takes two fields to make 1 frame so 59.940 fields per second is 29.976 frames per second. You should use the NTSC DV Widescreen (720×480, 29.970 fps) project preset completely unchanged. It is all set for 60i footage.

No. There is no delivery format that is 59.940. You want 29.976 for NTSC DVD’s.
