  • Project settings 24P only NTSC not PAL possible + blow up to 16:9

    Dear colleagues,

I have shot on AGDVX100A 4:3 Pal and I want to make a (hd) widescreen of it. What is the best way to do this?
-4:3 with black stripes or import to a premiere widescreen project (and then scale with 113%) or even a hd widescreen project? (and then scale even more)?

When I open premiere pro 2 I can choose different project presets. Now the 24P preset is only possible with NTSC. (4:3/ or widescreen. NOT PAL! (also in custom settings you can not change this.)

What I did: I created a new PAL 4:3 project and captured all the material. Now I am editing in this project, but I don’t trust it. I think now it must be interlacing as well.

This is a problem I have for a long time and during my last film I had serious problems, as the material was sometimes missing frames (probably because I recorded 24P and editing 25P maybe?)

Can somebody please help me with this?
I hope so. Thank you so much.
    Greetings Ton

Not quite sure how to break this to you.
24P recorded in video (not film) is actually recorded into an NTSC 60i with pulldown. The image has the same motion blur as progressive 1/48th like film, but its housed inside an NTSC signal.
That means there is no native way to edit this properly in a PAL project.
    – Jon 😉

How many editors does it take to change a light bulb?

    This is shocking news Jon!
So what do I have to do now?
and do you or somebody knows the answers on the other questions?

I shot AG DVX100 AE 4:3 PAL Progressive (Scene 5)
I want to edit (I suppose progressive) and converse to widescreen? HOW DO I DO THIS CORRECTLY?

I am now editing in a pal project 4:3 interlaced, as PREMIERE pro 2 does not have a PAL progressive project preset. Where is this project 24p PAL?

What is best: 4:3 pal project with black bars or import the whole film into an 16:9 widescreen project

I hope people can help me, as this film is very imported for me. Thanks Ton
