Project never fully seems to load
I am working on an HP Z800 system with dual xeon 2.5g quad core processor, 24 gig of ram, quadro fx4800 graphic card, esata Graid for hard drive.
I am working on several projects that have a number of files within each project. When I go to open some projects, it takes forever to load and many times it seems to not work still. Project will say everything is loaded and it would seemingly be ready to go but will not work properly. My main program screen will basically disappear. Sometimes if I wait long enough, it will appear and show the current frame on the timeline. When I move it, it goes away again. I’m not sure what is going on but it seems that the program should be working much smoother and faster than it is.
I am using Ppro 5.0 and there are no other applications open. I also went in and set the priority of Ppro to high and then added the adobe server to high as well. My performance monitor is only showing 9gb being used of that 24 and it is only showing 15% or so of the processors being used.
This is really slowing me down.

I’d first check out the Quadro drivers…it sounds like some of the symptoms may point that way. Are they up to date?
I’m curious if you allocated more RAM to that application? With 24GB on board, you should be able to throw 16GB at PPro without a problem.
Also, I’d check the Adobe applications to make sure they’re updated if it’s not something you’ve been doing regularly.
Otherwise…it’s software like any other software. Occasionally it has some sort of odd defect that can be dispelled by simply re-installing the applications.
