  • Project Manager stopped working for archiving files

I was successfully using the project manager to move finished projects from my project drive to storage on an external raid. About the time we upgraded to 5.5 it stopped working completely. I was too busy with client projects to deal with the problem then. Now I am trying to get this fixed. I use “collect files and copy to a new location” as opposed to creating a new trimmed project. I have tried using the project manager on a number of different projects, created at different times and have tried to move files to the external raid, my internal scratch drive as well as my desktop, all tries have failed. Each time, I get the same message “An unknown error occurred during the Project Manager operation. Please save your project and retry the operation.” Which I have tried. Still nothing works. What am I missing???? Help

Further update: I can use the project manager to collect and copy to a new location as long as I don’t check the box to “Include Preview Files”. So while I can archive projects to the external Raid now, I would still like to know why I can’t include these files now when I could previously. Must be a setting…

Hi, Did you ever resolve this? I’m having the same issue with a feature length film. 13 hrs of progress bar then the error message and nothing whatsoever on the external drive. Hugely frustrating. Trying to send out to colorist.

Sure this is a little late but…

Did you happen to install PPro via an admin account, but do all your work from within a user account?
I have noticed some strange permissions things with CS6 (mostly running the updates), and thought that maybe this could be your problem – the Project Manager is not working for me either (CS6)

    Just a thought.
