  • Project Manager Doesn’t output complete Premiere File

Hello… I just got a new RAID, and need to migrate all of my movie files to the new RAID.
So I went to Media Manager and exported everything to the RAID.
It appears that everything transferred… except my premiere file I was working on, only has two sequences on it. (The original file has 30 or more sequences on it.
This does not make sense to me. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks

You have to check-select all the sequences you wish to include within the Project Manager window.

Ok… so I tried all yesterday, but no luck. At first I tried selecting all of the sequences, but it froze, and stopped working. I reduced the seas to 10, and same thing. Then I reduced it to 8 sequences, froze again. When it freezes, it gives no error message. When I check force quit, it doesn’t say Premiere has crashed. It doesn’t even have a new folder to show that it started the work…

I am not sure what to do now????

    Any ideas?

    Hmmm… Just spit balling here…

    Any nested sequences?

Have you tried picking a different drive to render to? I work off of a shared storage system, but have had issues when trying to Project Manage back to the NAS. So I render it to a local drive and then copy back.

Also some clips never trim and render at full length. It seems like it’s hung up, but in fact it’s still just rendering long clips.

Just thoughts, though. For grins, take a single sequence, copy it into a new project. Strip out all effects and test Project Manager on that to see if it works correctly there.

I can transfer one sequence at a time. But every time I do that, it seems to copy every file from the project… And of course I could delete those duplicate files, but I assume they would all disconnect because they are deleted from the folder that the sequence was transferred into… Any thoughts?

As far as the drive, I am trying to transfer to a 6tb Pegasus RAID., There is no point to transferring to another drive. I got the Pegasus to try and improve my speed…

[Andrew Crittenden] “But every time I do that, it seems to copy every file from the project… “

I presume you mean clips that are not in your final sequence. That shouldn’t be happening. As a test, you should create a brand, new project with a simple sequence edited from a handful of clips. Both used and not used. Test that and see if you get the same results or if it acts normally. If you have the same issue with that, then obviously something is broken.

I might have missed it, but which version of Premiere?

[Andrew Crittenden] “I am trying to transfer to a 6tb Pegasus RAID.”

In that case, that should be fine.
