Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy project lost?

A newbie to apple and fcp, so please bear with the questions if they seem elementary…I have been working a one project, the one and only project I have created and have logged and captured about 14 hours worth of footage (600 odd clips)…have set up to use an ext. hard drive to hold the project and the files, using a MacBook Pro laptop…well…mistakenly went to view the online manual in FCP whilest the ext hard drive was not attached…when I reopened up FCP with the ext hard drive attached, my project seemed to be missing…so I went to open the project and it will not let me open it…so I tried to Import the project, and I was unable to because it was greyed out…seems I am able to Import the files (clips) associated with the project but not the project itself (specific bins where the clips are organized)…did I lose the project?…how do I proceed to get the project back?…or do I need to start from the beginning, import the clips and create a new project and save it as something different than the original…any help will be greatly appreciated…thanks, Michael

check your autosave vault. If you are not sure where it is saved to, with FCP open press (apple) +Q. This menu will show you the path to the autosave vault. Good luck
