  • Project going out of sync when moving between macs

    Hello,

I’m currently working on a 75min documentary and am nearing the final stages but am having a concerning problem.

Just a bit of background: All the media and project files are stored on a RAID which is connected to a server via fibre-channel and then shared over an ethernet network. All the footage I’m working with has been compressed to ProRes (proxy) and is 24fps- the audio is then synced to this as it was recorded separately on location.

Simply when I open the project on one mac all is in sync, when I close the project and open it on another mac there are a couple of 2min sections where the audio has slipped by a bit over a minute! (no longer in sync with the video) If I re-open the project on the original mac, it’s back in sync again.

If anyone has any experience of this or any suggestions as to what may be causing this I’d be very grateful to know. I can work around it by just using one mac but would like to know the reason why.

    Thanks

    Rob

Hi, you probably need to check your FCP video and audio setting on the other Macincluding the project/sequence/capture settings.

They don’t come automatically from the project.
