Progressive scan puzzle
I’m still struggling to see just what is going on when I try to create a DVD that uses Progressive scan using DVDA3. I have a project in DVDA which uses 3 different MPEG2 files, all of which Vegas 6 rendered out as progressive scan using the PAL wide screen template & altering the settings to progressive scan. So all of these files should be OK for use in DVDA without the need to re compress them. But every time I click the optimize button in DVDA it says that the files need to be re compressed.
The puzzle doesn’t end there. I reopen DVDA & start a new project & do nothing else at all but go to explorer & double click each of the 3 MPEG2 files that are in my original project. This causes 3 thumbnails to be added to the default menu. Doing nothing else at all I click optimize & see that the files will easily fit onto the selected media size. It also gives each of these files a green tick indicating that the 3 files in question DON”T need to be re compressed. I the click & open an other MPEG2, from an older project. file which is lower field first & again I’m told that there is no meed to re compress. So what does this all mean? It suggests to me that perhaps some other part of my original project is causing the problem about my original project needing to be re compressed when it should not need to. Any ideas as to just whats the problem?
Thanks in advance
