  • Programme Monitor not refreshing using Axio LE

Posted by Mark Palmos on July 19, 2006 at 9:01 am

    Hello all,

I am about to start my first big project using PP and Axio LE. One thing thats immediately come to my attention is that the Programme Monitor does not refresh if you scrub to another timeline clip. If you click on the display in the Programme Monitor and select the current clip, you will be able to scrub that clip, but not any other clips. As soon as the timeline playhead goes beyond the selected clip, the Programme Monitor view freezes till you click on it again and select the next clip!

The PAL monitor connected to the Axio DOES display all clips correctly, so I think this is a PP issue, not an axio issue.

The audio in the timeline also plays back correctly.

Any ideas? I am hesitant to start editing a large project like this!

    Mark.

Very weird discovery – the display works perfectly if the Programme Monitor is on the LH Screen, but playback does not happen properly if the PM is on the RH screen.

I am wondering if this has to do with ATI display adapter rather. (this is the display adapter which Matrox recommend as their #1 display adapter (ATI x1800XT)

    WEIRD!!!

[Larry Sherwood] “use horizontal span mode for VGA”

    Hey Larry, howzit mate?
I’m not at my ATI x1800xt right now, but I dont remember ever seeing the word “span” on their catalyst software. One thing I can tell you, is that if I FULL-SCREEN PP2, it shrinks down to take up the full LH monitor… so to have dual screen PP2, I have to un-Full-Screen PP2 and manually drag the window to dual screen size. Could that be an indication that this (mysterious) “span” is not enabled?
    Thanks,
    Mark

I found it eventually, larry, it is very well hidden. That Catalyst control panel is designed for teenagers… far prefered the matrox digidesktop pref settings.

BTW, if anyone else has an ATI, you have to RH mouse click on the LH monitor icon in the catalyst programme, and choose something which says span digital space or something weird… that sorts it.

    Thanks
    Mark.
