Suddenly the aspect ratio of my program monitor has changed to widescreen from 4 x 3. This only applies to a new project, previous projects show both source and program at the same aspect ratio. AFAIK nothing has changed, same computer, same camera etc.
    Any suggestions ??

    Regards

    Have you tried rebooting?

Check your sequence settings (Sequence>Sequence Settings).

    Hi Mike:
Checked these but all video options are “greyed” except Display Format.Greyed Aspect Ratio is showing “DI/DV NTSC Widescreen 16:9 (1.21) Which is exactly what I DON’T want! Seems there’s no way to change this. Original was shot 4:3 and Source Monitor shows this correctly. Other , older projects, show Program monitor as 4:3.
    Very strange. Any Suggestions.

    Regards

There is no other way for this (16:9) to happen other than it was accidentally selected as the sequence format. Make a new sequence using the correct seq settings and then copy all the clips from the 16:9 seq and paste them into the new 4:3 seq.
Bitter pill to swallow but it has been a human clicking errror not the software. 😉
let us know how the copy paste to the new seq goes.

Forget all my previous ramblings. I set the original Sequence to the wrong format. I think the good bottle of Red wine with dinner had some influence. Must learn not to try and edit after dinner!! BG

New (correctly set up) Sequence cured the problem.
