Professional Development
I am a university videographer in marketing and have been given an opportunity to attend a conference or workshop for professional development.
I’m having trouble finding conferences that provide relevant workshops and training.
NAB 2019 is one but the workshop I would most benefit from has closed out.
Adobe MAX is another that I’m considering but I’m not sure it will be within budget.What in-person events would you recommend for developing skills in university/marketing video production?
Trade shows with workshops? Conferences?Are their professional organizations you would recommend?
I looked at “Media Communications Association International” but they don’t seem to exist any more.I am located in North Carolina, USA.

What specific skills or capabilities are you looking to learn or improve upon?
There may be sources of education not named specific to your job but which may provide what you are looking for.

Marketing and production classes are and should be IMO separate things. If they still run them, Sony’s training school is good. The Maine Media workshops are another long-established one. They are multi-day affairs. I know there are many one day and two-day production workshops out in L.A., they seem to be in constant churn there, and a search will likely turn up something specific to your needs. If you want to stay East Coast, look at Florida and Georgia for similar programs. FullSail offers online programs.
