Product Advice for Switching Audio Outputs
Posted by Kesten Migdal on January 5, 2012 at 6:16 pmI’m constantly reaching in the back of my Mac Pro to switch between headphones and external speakers. I also have different input devices such as a DirecTV box and an audio preamp I use with Logic Pro. Should I just get a few simple 3.5mm male to female extension cables, or are there some sort of switching devices that I can leave on my desk?
Thanks in advance for your help.

January 5, 2012 at 6:50 pmIf it’s a fixed position a small patchbay would work. Also, if you Google there are probably switch boxes of various inputs/outputs available. Checkout https://www.Markertek.com.

January 6, 2012 at 3:52 amHello Kesten and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum,
Why are you switching outputs jacks on the Mac? Why not assign them from the Audio/MIDI panel?
Now for the inputs. What are you plugging in where?
Regards,
