    And according to their own specs, the operating temperature range is 0 degrees C to 40 degrees C.
    Hmmm, let’s see, that means that here in Vermont, the whole northern half of the US, Europe,
    the Snowy Mountains of Aussieland, and Mt Cook in New Zealand, the thing won’t work for half the year.
    There goes my spring shoot in Mongolia documenting the mating habits of yaks. 🙂

    All the gear comes with the same operating temperature guidelines – cameras, drives, tapes etc. It’s just the manufacturers covering their butts over extreme conditions under which they cannot viably test (can’t imagine them sending an engineer and a drive to Mt Cook or Ayers Rock to make sure)

    If you’re going to use the gear under such extremes it’ll probably work fine – even if you need to use some kind of insulated cover – but the onus is on you to test before you commit to shoot.
