First off, I’d be looking at what I was rendering to and from what Project settings. No doubt you will have the FX-ing and so on to do what you want, but initially I’d be looking to see if Vegas was having to do too much.

Only after doing an audit of the procedure I was putting Vegas under would I then consider trying to cool the PC down?

Oh yes, and secondly, do inspect the air ways and filters and “Fan filters” if you have. Many, many years ago I had what I thought was an air filter. Only to be told by John Rofrano, when I showed him, that “No Grazie!! You do not have a filter over your fan . . . That’s a collection of rubbish sitting on/over your CPU fan!” – Of course he was correct. So then I carefully brushed and vacuumed out the “filter” – rubbish, and my PC went silent and chilled out.

So, rendering is the most CPU intensive=heat producing process that us editors throw at our PCs. If you have anything that exacerbates the work load, rendering will discover it.

    Cheers

    Grazie

53C is not very hot for a CPU under load. Vegas will usually keep the CPU loaded to near 100% during render, but you don’t really need to worry unless the temperature gets much above 70C – the safe limit varies between processors I think.

Water cooling or even a better air cooler will help, but your temperature is not high enough to worry about.

Thayalan, just for your info, here’s an example of the latest Intel CPU and some of the best rated coolers (air & water).

*** Any way of cooling the CPU chip just adds more life to it.
