Processing speed and disk space
G5 Dual 2.5, LaCie Porsche 250gb (2), OS 10.4.1, FCE 3.5.1
Does the amount of disk space affect the speed of certain processing functions?
With 10gb left on LaCie external drive A, it took 30 minutes to make a QT self-contained movie of a 45-minute project.
With 172gb left on LaCie external drive B, it took 15 minutes to make a QT self-contained movie of the same project.

Yes, it will. The fuller the drive, the slower it runs.
