making the credits for a show.. i have all the credits in a word doc.. however, when i copy and paste from word(or text edit) to final cut, it doesnt have seperate lines. is there a quicksolution rather than going into final cut and actually pressing enter everytime i want a line break?

Use Title 3D with word wrapping turned on.

    All the best,

If Tom’s suggestion doesn’t work, set the word margins so the lines are as you like them, then Save As the word file as text with line breaks,

if you fancy jumping out to motion to create the scrolling titles it can do word wrapping if you drag out with the text tool.

the boris scroll/roll tool is best for scrolling text and i am pretty sure it can word wrap and creates the scrolling more reliably than text 3d and definitely has the deflicker filter built in (a big bonus)
