  • Problems with pre-comps and continually rasterize…

    Hey Cows,

I have an animation containing .ai vector content I’ve imported. I set each layer to continually rasterize and everything looks great!

Now I’m at a point where I need to break up some of this animation (it’s a camera doing a flyover following along some lines, passing various other elements and such… like driving, in a sense) into precomps for better workflow.
I need to add another text animation into the middle of the project, in this case, where the viewer reaches the end of one of the lines/paths. Right now, it’s all one continuous comp.

My problem is when I precomp, I essentially lose the continual rasterization. I can check the box to continually rasterize on this precomp layer placed inside a new comp, but then the placement and location of everything within the precomp goes crazy. Everything ends up in seemingly random places… completely out of order and place from what I had before the precomp. If I uncheck the box, everything snaps back into place, but then the edges are pixelated… I’m at a loss!

Anyone familiar with this behavior? Am I missing a step when precomping, maybe?

    Thanks for the help, folks!
