problems with moving audio events from Canon 5D
I am editing 25 minute episodes for TV. I am editing native mov files from two Canons 5D.
I recorded audio through a field mixer connected to one of Canons 5D (two channels: microport and boom mic), so the video files contain two audio channels (stereo stream).
When I put the video files on SV12 timeline, everything works fine. But when I split audio channels into two separate tracks, one of the audio events is lagged. It takes 4 seconds to move it after I click it.
I am doing ten 25 minute long episodes and it’s drives me nuts. Any ideas?

Don’t split it. Duplicate the stereo audio channel. Then right click the original, click on channels from the pop up menu, then click left channel. Repeat for the duplicate, but select right channel.

Then I am not sure what you mean by lagged. Duplicating a track does not move it on the time line. If you mean that the computer is not responding when you try to drag the event, then I think the problem is your computer rather than Vegas. It must be doing some swapping to get the resources to perform the function.

I really don’t know why is it so. Dragging an audio event takes 4 seconds before it moves. If the video event is linked with the audio, it is also lagged. When I ungroup the video, it responds properly. The problem remains in one of the separated audio channels. It slows down workflow very much.
